We never got much past the Civil War when I was in school. Don’t imagine they do now, either.
I once had a new 5th grade teacher ask me (in the 1980’s) what that Pearl Harbor thing was all about.

I know. It was jarring to see it at the museum next to a portion of the Berlin Wall.

Somewhere in a box we have pieces of the Berlin Wall. We lived in Germany when it came down.

I can’t imagine what it was like to be in Germany at the time. It was a pretty big deal for me watching it on television.
